Waiting For Approval!!!

Oh that really stinks! I know that Dr. Snyder's office is going through a lot of changes and restructuring. Dolly is gone and Amber is the new person. Plus Brandi is gone and there is a new person. One of the other staff members mentioned to me that they were changing a lot of things. Dr. Snyder being the perfectionist wants to make sure everything is the way it shoudl be I guess. i'm sorry this happened to you.

I'm hoping your insurance will approve you!

I got an email from Dr. Snyder that Dolly was no longer with the practice and wondered what happened.  I had sent her email after email with no response.

I have a hunch that my insurance co. did receive the paperwork, I think they are stalling.  I was told that the info was sent on 11/3, 11/5 and 12/7.
And NO ONE at the insurance co. can find these documents?!
BS!

So, now I have to wait.  I have sent emails and left messages for Amber and the other gal, Irene and still...I wait.

I have no exclusions on the policy. I have done everything they wanted and nothing yet.

I will keep calling, multiple times a day, until I get my answer.  There is no reason why I should not be approved.  The Insurance Co. stating they didn't receive clinicals is BS! I don't believe that Dr. Snyder's office wouldn't send them!!!!

So I am here, waiting.

Well the only reason it might not have been sent would be all the restructuring but I'm sure if they have the dates then they probably did do what they said they did. Just keep calling Irene and Amber. Amber is good about calling back...eventually. I'm sure she gets a ton of calls. Irene...well just keep calling.

Since my insurance advised me and insurance guru at Surgeon's office that they did NOT have my clinicals on 12/7, I called on 12/8 and spoke to a supervisor.

NOW, they DO have the clinicals and I got a call yesterday from supervisor advising she walked all 47 pages down to medical review.

How could they have lost the first lot!?  It was sent 11/3 and 11/5.

I was told all that was received was a letter of medical necessity.
I don't believe it!  Now, I am waiting.

I did receive a DENIAL letter, because NO CLINICALS.

I filed it away and when supervisor called me back, I addressed that letter with her.
She stated that NOW they DO have the clinicals so ignore it.

I will be calling said insurance CO. every day, come Monday.

I have done everything, jumped through all the hoops.

Patience is not one of my strong suits!

Waiting waiting waiting!!!

Thanks for reading!

Cheers,

Megan

I'm glad you are able to maintain your patience. I still don't understand why my insurance company stated I wasn't obese enough. Its shocking really. But I have put it in the past and now I'm just working my band. I'm sure you will be here soon

I am trying to maintain my patience.  I feel that NOW the documents have been received and I had a verbal confirmation from the supe I spoke with, it should be easy peasy at this point!!

I will call her, though!!

I just want to get there!! ;)

What is it they mean by NOT OBESE ENOUGH. JAYSIS.  I am SUPER MORBIDLY OBESE based on the BMI Calculator on this site.
SUPER !!  I mean, COME ON.  Insurance Co's have a good racket, that's for sure.

I am so glad you love your band and are doing well!!

I can't wait for my RNY!

EDITED TO ADD:  My pic, the one of me at Stonehenge, is 10 years old.  I am WAY fatter now!

Hi again - well my BMI was 42 but they (AETNA) said I wasn't obese enough. I met their criteria and yet still denied. I didn't appeal because my surgery was 2 days from the denial, who knows how long it would take to submit and get an appeal reviewed. Plus the new year I have new insurance so I didn't want to start over.

Please keep me in the loop - I'm crossing everything I have hoping you'll get approved.

Hey do you or will you attend support groups in the area? I'm planning to attend the Westminster and the NorthGlenn ones. Maybe others too. You?

I was so confused because you replied to the post on 12/12 and it says in your profile your surgery is 12/12 -I was thinking you were writing from your hospital bed.

LOL.

Yeah who knows about Aetna - they had a 5 yr history from me and I was over 40 the two years they asked for but they still denied me. Regardless, I'm on my journey now, so I guess its all right

Good luck tomorrow!
