Waiting For Approval!!!

Hi All!

Heard from my surgeon's office today and now, we are waiting for approval!

I am so excited!! I completed the 6 month dr. supervised diet and that actually went pretty fast!

Now, we wait!

I cannot WAIT to be on the Loser's Bench!!

Congrats! I am in the same boat. As of YESTERDAY I finished my 6 months WLS meetings and I lost weight every month so it went pretty good. Good luck with everything..cant wait until we are both on the loser's bench. YAY!!!

Hi Christy!

I hope it's a quick process!! I am so stoked to get the surgery and begin the new phase of my life!!

The 6 month WLS diet, etc wasn't too bad!! It went by really quickly!
So, let's hope we BOTH get a quick approval!

I remember back in february when they told me I had to do the doctor's supervised diet for six months. To contact the surgeons office when i reached the 4 month mark. The time went by quickly

So quickly that I'm now 13 weeks post op. Where did this year go?!

Wow Megan that's great. I see we have the same surgeon. I'm actually only doing a 3 month plan to get approved through Aetna but I'm going for lap band. Please let us know how things go for you!

Lap Band on 01/05/10

I just got approved, I actually went to Dr Synders consuation and I wanted to go through him for my surgry, but he is patient portion paid in full beore surgery, My health can't wait too long for me to come up with the money. Going to Dr. Brown. I just scehulded my surgery date for January 2010. Can't wait. Im having the Lap Band done. Loosers Bench here we Come!!!

Not sure what you meant regarding Dr. Snyder. Don't all bariatric surgeons require that you explain how you will pay for the surgery? You don't necessarily have to pay up front if you have a care credit or a medical loan etc. REgardless I am glad you found a solution for yourself. I'm going the insurance route and will have approximately $1500 out of pocket but I have FSA to reimburse me for that since I planned in advance this time benefits enrollment came around.

SO that charge is above and beyond any deductible? I have reached my out of pocket limit and my surgery, if completed by 31 Dec, will 100% Covered.

THe charge is nothing for a new life. I will gladly pay it.
I heard one can make payments as well.

It's only been 4 business days, and I want to know if I am approved!

Sometimes, I am impatient!

Well I haven't been on this section of the forums in a while. I actually had my surgery on 11/20 but I ended up self-paying. Two days before surgery Aetna denied me saying I wasn't obese enough, as if insurance companies are the experts. Regardless I felt it was a good investment in my health and I went ahead and financed through CareCredit. Everything went great and I feel...AWESOME. At least I have a good tax deduction next year

My insurance company told the insurance guru that the didn't receive my "clinicals".

I don't buy it. I was so upset yesterday, so I have sent over the docs I had, that I gave to my surgeon's office, to a supervisor.

We shall see.

I have jumped through all the hoops, I have done everything. NOW they say they didn't receive any info, except a letter.

HA!

Insurance guru refaxed everything. Now, we wait again.

GAH! Keeping a positive outlook regarding this. . . .
