Another Medicaid question

I am having an awful time finding a dietitian and exercise physiologist that excepts medicaid, I have looked here on the resources in Colorado, but I am not having any luck. I have also checked out some of the bigger hospitals in Denver with out any luck. Does anyone know of any medicaid dietitians or exercise physiologist?  I need some direction as this search can be a big frustration.

Thanks,
Dawn

You might find a dietician if you have a medical condition such as diabetes for a consult or another disease that requires a specialized personal diet.

Your best luck might be to try the community health center in the town near you to see what services they offer.  As for an excercise physiologist, golly don't know.  If you needed PT for recovery from an injury.  But I know my friend had WLS coverd by medicaid but no other services were offered, if wanted they would have to be self pay.

Peak Vista takes Medicaid and has Dietitians that can help with getting the 6 months diet/nutrition done. They are not official bypass people but you can get the 6 month issues done there at pretty much no cost or very minimal. As for exercise coaches. Not heard of Medicaid paying for that. But Medicaid does cover a Physical Therapist with a referral for a specific medical issue. I have been through allot of PT's. So I guess I can answer that  one!! And a PT place that does take Medicaid is Memorial Outpatient PT.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help with anything else.
