support groups in the Longmont or Firestone area

I'm looking for a support group in the north area, specifically Longmont or Firestone areas.  We recently moved to Firestone and I've had many stressers this past year and need to get back on track.  My weightloss plateau'd early according to my surgeon.  I pretty much stopped losing at about 6 months.  Since then, I've gotten a new job, moved and most importantly, I lost my mother in September.  All I seem to want to do now is eat.  I've turned into a grazer,, and am gaining the weight to show it.

I'd really like to correspond with some one who understands and has maybe gone through some of these same challenges.  How do you cope with the emotional eating, that I associate with my grief.  Moving has been and still is a huge challenge, something that I don't think is ever going to end and that is proving to be another stressor.

I'd like to hear from any of you who have ideas, or know of a local support group.

Thanks,
Cindy

Cindy,

I would also love to participate in a support group and I live in Frederick.  Have you heard of one?  If we got enough interest, maybe we could start one?

I'm not sure how far from Arvada you are - but there is a Support Group there.  Check out http://www.denverbariatrics.com/default/support-central  then scroll down and click on "Support Group Listings" .  All of the support group leaders through that website have been certified through OH.

I haven't heard of one near us.  I saw that there were some in Greeley, but that is still farther than I want to drive.  I know there was one in Arvada, but that is still about 30 miles from me and farther than I want to drive.

I'd be interested in starting one.  Maybe it could be a lunch group, depending on where we all work.  I work in Boulder, along the Diagonal Higway, at the IBM campus.  I say lunch group, because I know it's very hard for me to convince myself to go out again once I get home from work.  :-))  I'm a definite homebody.
