I had my surgery on the 13th of January, 2009 and I have not lost anything for three weeks?  It is really frustrating.  I have been eating so very little, but it doesn't seem to matter. What am I doing wrong?

Robbylynn.......You aren't doing anything wrong.  Please, don't worry.  Are you getting any exercise?  Drinking lots of water?  How much protein are you getting daily?  You might just need to hide those scales for a couple of weeks.  We all have stalls.  It seems the closer I get to goal the longer my stalls are, but I know I'm doing everything that I can do to lose.
Don't be too hard on yourself, it will happen.
Big Hugs,
Pat A

I just started using the tread mill, I was just too weak to do much before now, I had a revision and it was really hard on me.  I am drinking my water but I don't alwats get enough I know.  I am getting my protein, I even had chicken yesterday.  I don't seem to handle many foods well, I have been doing mostly cheese sticks and cottage cheese and some egg whites.  I do some mashed taters too, but not too often.  I can usually only eat like 3-4 ounces.  What should I have as an example per each meal?  Like ounces and all?  I think I am doing it right, but maybe not?

Thanks for your guidence.

Now, we are not to do comparisons, but I do drink 64 oz of water daily plus other liquids too.  You are still in the sipping stage, right?
I also have a protein shake each day, that's another 16 oz. for 23 grams of protein plus my foods.  I haven't tried egg whites and I find too many carbs in potatoes of any kind for me.  So, I try to get over 60 grams of protein in each day, I would love 90.
I posted my accountability for yesterday that has a list of what I ate.  We can all do this daily and help each other along?
Pat

Also, when your fresh out of surgery you are so bloated on gasses and IV fluids. You will start losing before you know it so don't give up hope. Like Pat said too hiding the scale might just be the thing you should do for a time. Good luck in your journey!

When I was fresh from surgery I didn't lose either. I even called my doctor in a panic at 6 weeks because I thought I was doing something wrong too. However, after a few weeks more i started to drop pretty quickly. I am post gastric bypass and I am down 74lbs and 6 pant sizes! It will happen. I am curious, since I am new here, you can eat 3-4 oz? I have been extremely rundown and having trouble taking in all my protein, I can eat maybe 2 oz at the most. I wonder if I am not processing my nutrients well because i am unable to eat very much.? That was food for thought. Anyway, keep on chugging along, you will start to lose shortly and will be amazed at how quickly you need new clothes! Take care
