4 days to go!!

It's almost here!! Just four more days and I am feeling good!  I thought I would be more nervous, but surprisingly I am not!  I think the biggest reason is because I have done so much research and I feel like I am well informed and Dr. Dickinson has been sooo positive about the outcome.  He was very impressed to see that I had only gained 3 lbs between Halloween, when I saw for the first time, and  January 7 for my pre op!  And that was making it through 3 holidays!!  I have found that I do not have the need to indulge in the "last Supper" activities.  If I choose to eat something that I will not be able to eat after surgery, I enjoy it, but I don't eat a huge portion and I find that it has been very easy to leave at least half of it on my plate.  I have what I need to have on hand when I come home and I have my bag pcked with only the essentials.   I have been watching Bariatirc TV, which is a hoot!  Toni and Linda make me laugh!  I have also read "Before and After" by Susan Maria Leach and I cannot reccommend it enough to anyone who is considering WLS or has already had it.  She answered so many questions and she has a great web site as well.  I even did something that I sworn I would NEVER do, I posted a "fat " picture on my profile page and am using it for my avatar!  I am so looking forward to this summer, so I can get a new picture to replace the other one!  Thanks to everyone for their good thoughts!

Yea Jeanne,
I'm only 4 weeks out from being banded.  I'm glad you're not wasting any energy on being nervous.  I wasn't either.  I kept waiting for the anxiety to set in, but it never did.  And I'm glad!  The overwhelming majority of people have a very smooth time.  I was very pleased with how smoothly my surgery and post-surgery has gone.

I'm happy for you.  Let us know how it goes.

Congrats on the upcoming surgery! I know you will do just great. I can't wait to join you on the losers bench! Take care of yourself and when you get back let us know how you are doing. We will be thinking of you!

Hope today went awesome!  I also had Dr. DIckinson for a surgeon--you are in great hands. Can't wait to hear an update.  Let me know if you'll be in FC sometime and we could do coffee or lunch---well let's wait until you aren't on pureed food!!

Sorry I didn't get to see you, Dr. Dickinson came to my room right after your surgery and told me I was doing well enough to go home!  I hope you re doing well.

For everyone else my surgery went great and I am feeling GREAT and best of all I went home yesterday afternoon!  Getting the hang of how to drink all tha****er just a sip at a time!
