How long before? Questions about Gastric Bypass
The seminar is a one time deal. After that you start being scheduled to meet with the surgeon, nutritionist, and psychologist. Those are the people you will have to meet w/ for 'clearance' so to speak. Jody in the surgeon's office will be working w/ your insurance and will schedule you surgery date. As you can see, I had Dr. Fedorak too. He's cool! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me via PM. Wishing you best of luck on you journey! P.S. Is that our wonderful Garden of the Gods in the background of your avatar? Such a beautiful place! Crystal
Oh, very cool! I hear Fedorak is just amazing! I'm mostly worried about the insurance covering things at this point. Now that my appointment with Fedorak is so close now. On the tenth of July.
Yeppers, that's the Garden of the Gods. That was taken right before my last bout of back problems and before my last steroid shot. So I think I've gained about 19 pounds since then and that was only like a month ago.
I was at a cookout today and photos were taken of me with my poofy face and bloated body. LOL So I may post those when they get uploaded.
DR. Fadorek is AWESOME! I got home yesterday from having my surgery on Monday. It went soooo well, I did not have any problems. He actually said I could go home on Wednesday but I asked to stay one more day to get the rest (I had 4 kids at home waiting for me.) Dr. Fadorek came into visit me twice a day it seemed like right when he got in in the morning and then again before he left for the evening. I had some wonderful nurses as well, Anna, Kim, Jessica, and Meggie were GREAT! As soon as I got home I went to Wal-mart to get the medicine for ulcers (just to prevent). I did not go home with any pain medicine. I do not have to wait until a year is up to say I would do this again, I would say that NOW. When I went in on Monday I weighed 328 pounds today I weighed in 4 days later and weigh 320 pounds. Hurray!!!!! Let me know if you have any questions.
WOW! I am so happy for you! I've been talking to several people over the last few weeks that have had the surgery. Everyone who had it in the last 3 years has wonderful things to say, everyone who had it before then, all had problems. Not sure if it's just that technology and the Doctor's are getting better or if it's just a coincidence.
We have to get together sometime when you are healed up and we can talk about stuff.
How is the eating of the one ounce 3 times a day going?
Yeah we can get together time let me know, send me a private email and we can exchange numbers. Eating the 3 ounces is not bad at all, you just have to be creative. They want you to eat mostly protein, so for breakfast I have been eating eggs, then for lunch yesterday I had tuna with light mayo and a saltine cracker and just nibbled on it for a half hour. I have been trying to drink that is hardest, I have all different flavors of crystal light (and most are yummy).
