Hi, I had my surgery 6/16/08. I have heard stories from friends and family of people they know who within a week were back to normal in terms of mobility and pain. I feel like something must be wrong with me. I am having a very hard time hydrating because every sip of water or anything causes a cramping sensation just below my left breast bone, and I feel like it is quite a chore to walk completely upright. I am nervous about having to go back to the hospital but my 2oz every 15 mins is turning into 2oz every hour or so. please help!

Asashorty-  I'm sure sorry to hear you're having a tough time, I would definitely call your doctor and tell him/her what's going on.  It doesn't sound normal and with a Lap you can be back to life that quick.  If you call the dr. you could aviod the hospital, but if you don't drink they will hook you up to hydrate you sure as anything.  call the dr.!!!!!!  Hope things get better really fast...........VickyRuth

just looked back at this post. thought I would enlighten as to what the issue was. I waited another day or two thinking it was just healing. Next thing I know my whole where the RNY was done was spewing disgustingness all over the place. Insicion site infection. A few antibiotics later I got to rejoin the world of upright walking humans!
