What a mix of emotions? Any advice? Lapband. What are the best protien drinks out there I don't care for the shakes I know I like the fruity ones. How long till I feel like myself again?

congrats on your date. I hear Dr. Snyder is great he has done this surgery on 4 people I work with.  My thought on the protien is try small amounts do not buy a lot you can get sample sizes at vitiam cottage or a store like that. Keep us posted on how you do. Shellie

Some GNC's will let you sample before you buy or they will let you bring it back if you hate it after you try it.  My favorite is the Isopure bottles but they are kind-of expensive.  There is also New-Whey where you can get 40 grams in 3.1 ozs. They come in what looks like a test tube.  I also have Amplify and it isn't too bad.  Dr. Snyder is very highly thought of so you are good hands.  I just got mine 12/20 and it took me while about a week to get over the hump.  They also repaired a huge hiatal hernia when they did my band so that  (and my age) may have had something to with my slow bounce back.  I just to do as well as I did in my youth when I get down.  I have read where some people were back at work in 3 days so everyone is different.  Feel free to PM me or respond to this about any specific questions you may.  Something they don't usually suggest is little digital timer to make sure you get your liquids in after surgery.  A friend who had the bypass by Dr. Snyder told me about that tip.  Have some ice packs ready that really helped with pain around the port area after.  A pillow to ride home with between you and seat belt.  Let me know if you more questions I will tell you what I know.  ' Good Luck, MileHigh

As the date approaches I seem to get more anxious. I really like the new whey but I am worried about getting too much protein.

First, congratultions on your choice and best of luck on your journey. If there is one thing I have learned AFTER the fact.. which would have been great to know before is the emotional ride for the first couple weeks.  It took me and so many others by surprise.  Just a heads up so you canbe prepared if it happens to you. I suggest you take a pillow to the hospital for the ride home and for comfort.  Sometimes other pillows just dont cut it and on the ride home it will comfort your tummy for all those little bumps you never feel before. Third..  LIP GOO.  OMG, my lips kept getting so dry.  Im sure your hospital will have some but if you are picky or have a preference ( I am and do )... bring your own. Good Luck, you'll be great! ~Lisa

I have found one at cost co  and it is cistrus strawberry  you only take 3 ounces and it has 20 grams of protien and 80 calories.  I agree don't buy big ones,  I just did and it was WEY and it takes terriable and smells terriable.  Will have to see if they will take it back.  Go to vitalady.com and you can buy little samples.  I emailed them and they sent me a list of the real popular ones.  They have all kinds
