Hello OH, My Surgery was Feb. 26th 2007 and i still need to loose 43lbs to get down to goal weight of 150lbs.  I am currently at 193lbs.  I am so miserable i feel my self drifting back into my old eating patterns and not exercising if anyone can be of help with giving me some suggestions on what i can do to get back on Track i would be greatly appreciated.  I know what the Tool is but i still get side tracked.  Also if anyone has any suggestions on when to think about getting a tummy tuck is it when your at goal weight or can you do it before? does anyone have any experience with BCBSIL PPO insurance getting the tummy tuck or can you suggest a certain Surgeon to consider? Thanks for all your HELP in advance Geena

Hi, I'm Luz I've seen you at work (CE) and you look pretty good , I know that being at a sit down job is a drag for this surgery. Ive been working there and let me tell you, i had my surgery on 08/27/07 and im down 80 lbs with 50 to go but girl, its hard work. You have to make sure your not grazing or snacking in between too much or at least snack on the right stuff. Exercise is the key, my surgeon advised  me to get atleast 30 min to 1 hour a day if i can no matter what and thats what i do. As far as tummy tucks and stuff they adv wait till your 1 year out atleast...so know that u are not the only one at work with this issue :)

Have you tried using FitDay.com.  It is free to sign up but it really helps you be accountable for what you are eating.  You can log you activity.  I had to lose 10% of my body weight pre-op and it really helped me.  The accountability is very powerful.  Good luck.  MileHigh

Geena, You are doing so well for being just a year out. Go with the flow and you will loose the other 43 pounds. Just remember Rome wasnt built in a day. Just stick with the program and it will fly off. I lost 100 the first year then I lost 50 the next.  I did have plastics, ARms, Lower Body Lift and a butt lift a year out and I should have waited. I was antsy. My insurance denied it but I fought it. I had Pacificare at the time. I know for a fact that BCBS wont pay for any plastics related to Weight Loss surgery. I checked into. I have BCBS from the Government. I have the PPO.  I know some folks from Illinois that have the BCBSIL PPO and it wont pay for plastics either. Good luck with getting BCBS to pay for plastics it is hard. I had a lump from my arms and BCBs gave me a hard time but I faught it. Carla

Who do you work for if you do not mind me asking.  As I also work in Denver a d have BCBSIL.  I know a few with the insurance the did not pay for the plastics for the tummy but one did get the girls lifted. Shellie
