Anyone in Thornton or nearby? My date is on SATURDAY!!

This is cool!  I just found this Colorado board.  I am fairly new to the site and still learning to navigate through everyhing.  So, I am scheduled for this Saturday 12/22 at 7:30 am.  I am super STOKED!!  I can't "weight" any more (hehehehe).  Anyone else going to be under the knife of Dr. Chae this weekend or just recently?  Would love to chat! Hey Heather!!! My RNY was on Monday 12/17 and I just got home yesterday (Thursday).  Dr.  Chae was my surgeon - in fact he told me he was doing surgeries this weekend. I'm doing well.  No major pain and just sipping water and soup. Good luck!!! Call me if you want to chat:  Jana 719-550-1684

Great to hear!!  I may give you a call when I'm out too.   So excited!!  Well, not excited at this particular moment as I just barely finished my second dose of the phospho soda.  YUCK!  ;)

I am not going under the knife this weekend but I am next weekend 12/29 with Dr Chae at Skyridge also at 7:30 am. Good luck. What things did you have to do today? What did the Dr discuss at your pre-op appt? I am having Lap-Band. What time did you have to be at the hospital?

Congratulations!  Today I can't eat anything other than clear liquid stuff.  At 5pm & 6pm I had to take a dose of phospho soda (you have to try to clear your intestines as much as possible before the surgery).  it's unpleasant, but still worth it I think.  Nothing to eat or drink after midnight.  Kind of a bland day.  I will admit I am already missing food a bit.  Nothing major and I'm by no means complaining.  It's just kind of sad a little bit....saying goodbye to an old friend.   Please keep in touch and let me know how it goes for you. I will try to keep posting my progress too.

Hello Neighbor.  I'm in Longmont so not too far away from you.  Dr. Chae did my lap RNY on 10/30/07 and he was wonderful.   You are in very good hands with him.I have Kaiser insurance so my surgery was done at St. Joseph's in Denver.  I had to do a clear liquid diet 3 days prior to surgery, but it wasn't bad at all.  The first six weeks after surgery were pretty easy for me, but then I hit a little road bump with constipation and never realized how painful that could be.  That has been resolved and I'm back to feeling good again.  Congratulations on your surgery.  Check back and let us know how you are doing!

 

I too, am in Longmont!  I had my surgery in Feb 2003!  :-) yeah, it's been a while...but, omg I would do it over and over and over again if i had to!  Nope.. once was actually enough for me to give me the 2nd chance I needed.  I will never let myself get back to even close to where i once was.  I would love to keep in touch with you...and anyone else in the longmont area...  Luck to you... You will absolutely love your new life... you deserve it! Laxi
