thyroid trouble?

I haven't been losing much weight and couldn't figure out why.  I hadn't lost anything in about a month and then had stomach trouble and couldn't eat and lost 9 pounds just like that.  When I went to the doctor yesterday I was acutally up a pound!   Well, I think I know why.  I was at the doctor to talk about my blood test results.  I've been on thyroid supplements for about 17 years.  It goes up, it goes down usually not that much.  They want the tch levels to be no more than 2 if you are on supplements.  Mine was 7.4, previously it was about 5.4 which was still too high but it jumped a lot between the two checks.   My doctor said that the thyroid underperforming could be the cause of a lot of my problems.  The not losing weight, the stomach pain, the dry skin, losing hair (I was doing that before the surgery and am losing more now), even my fatigue and acne flair ups. So I got a new prescription and will take it for two months and see if it jump starts my weight loss.  I just wanted to share because if anyone else is having these kinds of problems it could definitely be your thyroid and you should have it checked. Thanks for all the help that you all have given me.   Cindy
