Nervous With a Date.

Good Morning Colorado, My name is Dana and I live in Colorado Springs. It is such a Beautiful Snowy Day .out I thought I'd reach out to all that are in my shoes or once was. I have my date set for February 6th, 2008. The date is getting closer and I am getting scared. My BMI is 61 I weigh 341 and am 5'1. I am getting close and very scared do you have any advice on what you did to keep the jitters to a minimum?

Dana, I had my surgery with Dr. Nagy. I LOVE him, he does not take any chances, and is actually a little overly cautious which is a good thing.  You will do fine, just try to relax and go into your surgery with a positive attitude...yes I know easier said than done.  Good luck and let me know if there is anything I can do to help you more.  Gayle

Thank You Gayle, That means a bunch to me. I feel much better, I posted my information hoping to hear from someone that has had my surgeon and what there experience has been with him. Hi Dana -  I'm having surgery next Monday 12/17 in Denver. I, too, am a bundle of nerves yet so very excited at the same time!  I have found that reading posts from people who have recently had surgery helps.  Also talking to people who have had surgery also helps.  Have you attended a support meeting at Penrose Main yet?  I haven't yet, but plan to do so as soon as I'm able to after surgery. Jana, I live off of Powers also, just a little further north.  If you are looking for a good gym, check out fitness 19 at Powers and Stetson Hills.  I love it there, they are so good to me, and I have never felt out of place.  It is also affordable, as it is a dry gym...no pool, no sauna, no showers.  Good luck

I'll have to check that out when I'm down some.  Right now my orthopedist (sp?) wants me only in the water.  As he put it....you can do anything as long as your feet don't touch the ground. Good thing I float, eh?  LOL
