Tell me what I nned to know about after surgery?

I guess I will be the first to ask.  What questions do you have specifically.  There is a lot to know about after surgery, maybe you can narrow it down to certain topics and we can go from there.  Is this a new process for you?  Are you already approved?  Have you done any research yet?  Have you been through any classes yet?  Let us know what you need help with so we can give you better answers. 2 books I have picked up for my surgery experience: Weight Loss surgery for Dummies The Emotional First Aid Kit: The Practical Guide to Life After Bariatric Sugery by Cynthia Alexander Hope this helps, Jen

Thaks I will see if I can pick up these books.  I wanted to know about what it will be like for the first day, the first week after, so that I can best know how to have my support system support me.  If that makes any sence.  I do not want to have people over to help me if I will be all sleepy cause of the drugs they give or not.  I am not sure.  I have a pre-operation and hospital team visit on the 13th maybe that will answer some of my questions.  Have you been to a support meeting.  Was that worth going to if you have.  Thanks fo respoonding to my question.  You rock. To respond to yours.  I am schedule for Dec 19th.  I have all the Ins. stuff squared away.  I have my friend to run my business and some friends to come over to help me if I need it.  Tell me how it was for you.  David   P.S. Oh I see that you have not had surgery yet.  Sorry I did not read better but would love to contact you or find out a closer groups support than the Ft Collins one so that I can get some information.  Thanks Again and sorry about not reading more carefully.  David

I also live in Westminster and go to a support group at North Suburban.  So are you getting your surgery done in Fort Collins? Why so far?    I for got to look why type of surgery are you having.  How long will you be in the hospital does your doctor think?  That will also have to do with you game plan.

Hey thanks for responding.  I have medicaide to pay for this and Ft. Collins was my only choice I could find.  Hey when is the N. Suburban support group I would like to go.  I live off of 92nd and Federal.  I will be in for two days they tell me.  Thanks for writing me.  SOrry It took me so long to respond.  I am busy arranging things for the big day.  Any other advise please contact me.  Glad there is someone close.  David

There is a meeting this Thursday at 6:00 pm - I would call and see if you have to be part of their program or can anyone go.   I to have been busy it is hard to get on the site some weeks.

sorry I have not been on for a few days.  It is in the main hospital in the basement.  I will call you tomorrow and leave you Laura's number or call the main number and ask for the nutrition
