I came home yesterday after my surgery on Monday morning. Dr. Fedorak was awesome and the Bariatric unit/staff were so great! It is good to be home. I did have to come home on oxygen and will be on it for about a week... but other than that I am feeling great and getting around. Now the wirlwind begins!!!   It is so weird all of the emotions I have been going through. When they were wheeling me into the OR I just started crying. Fran assured me this was normal:) When I woke up.. it was reality that WOW I really did this! Talking to my daughter has been great and thank you for all of the great advice.. She has had a lot of questions but also gets things a lot more than I thought she would. We are trying to keep things as normal as possible for her. She loves seeing Mommy eat with a baby spoon LOL! I will post in a few days how things are going. Sarah

Congratulations! Now the real fun begins!!! It's absolutely normal to cry and be upset before and after surgery. Major surgery with a subsequent lifestyle change is a big deal. Your doing a great job and I love that positive attitude. Keep it up and let us know how your doing.

Congrats on making it to the "losing side"!! :-) Yes, you are in for a roller-coaster of emotions.  Mine began in the hospital as well and lasted for quite some time afterward.  You go through a phase of "what did I do to myself?"...but it passes quickly enough.  Just keep reminding yourself that you did this for a very good reason and in the end it's all worth it.  :-)  I'm a little over a year out now and am down 150lbs from my highest weight...so yes, it's worth it!  Take things one day at a time m'dear and you will be just fine. :-)  Good luck and again, congrats on your new life! :-) ~Maria
