Hello all, I was wondering about financing for the lap-band surgery. I have called and my insurance plan doesn't cover bariatric surgery at all. They said that our employer didn't request that, or something. I don't quite understand it. Anyway, I'm still determined...because what are my other options. I am looking into the financing route. The Dr. office uses a couple different places to finance. Has anyone gone this route and does anyone know anything about it and what to expect, etc? Thank you all...I am so glad to have found some support out there!

Thank you so much for all those resources. Can anyone tell me what to expect from financing? Those of you who've done so. Is it hard to get qualified, Are the payments reasonable, etc.?

I'm sorry, my insurance covered everything for me. I think it is really unfair for insurance policies not to cover this treatment. (I believe) It has been proven that weight loss surgery is actually cheaper than letting obese patients continue to be obese...we develop so many afflictions and conditions as a result of being obese that costs millions and million to treat. It's like the insurance company wants to lose money on you instead of letting you have a surgery that would make your life happier and healthier. I look forward to the day that it is against the law to not cover weight loss surgery. It's a statement on our health care system and consumerism in the USA...but that's way more than what you were after. I think it's so admirable that your willing to do what it takes to have this surgery. I wish I had more information available to you. Good luck with everything.
