We are coming out the week of Spet 16th.  We are narrowing it down and it seems like CastleRock Elizabeth or Parker are the places for us.  remeber acreage, newer homes( post 1990). Anything I NEED to know about those areas, the schools anything? any prisons in those areas airport issues?  Anyone going to the Rapids game on the 16th, I will be there for that. I work for Chivas USA I kinda planned the trip around the game.

Most of the prisons are in the Florence and Canyon City areas.  I *think* there is a county jail in Castle Rock if I remember right. Not sure what you mean by "airport issues" unless you mean are they in the flight paths.

I currently work in Parker so if you need information on the town I can tell you.  When I was younger I spent a lot of time in Elizabeth and have also looked at houses out there recently because they are cheaper in Elbert County than they are in Douglas County. There is not a prison or anything similiar to that in any of those cities but the Douglas County jail is in Castle Rock.

There are prisons in Limon, Canon City, Florence, Ordway.  The 'big boys' are in Canon City and Florence, which are quite a distance away from the areas your looking in to.

Generally, Douglas schools have higher marks. (for whatever faith you put into standardized testing).

I think Parker would be a great choice, Castle Rock is great, my mom lives there but as for traffic, coming up I-25 in rush hour is the worst, especially with the snow.  Elizabeth is a little to rural but Parker is a great city, just big enough and close enough to everything but yet has plenty of land to sit on and the schools are great, no prisons near, airport is plenty far away and think you could get to the stadium in Commerce City fairly well.  I would check out Parker more.

We live in Castle Rock and love it there.  We have been there about 5 1/2 years, so we have seen a lot of growth.  The drive in on I 25 is not too bad.  I work 6:30 to 3:30 most days - so that helps with the traffic.  Ping me if you have any Castle Rock questions.
