New to the Thread!

Hello,  My name is Geena, i am looking for some sort of guidance i am 5 months post op as of July 26th.  My starting weight was 310lbs my current weight is 229lbs and my goal weight for me and my Dr.  Is 150lbs.  I am looking for Support Groups in Colorado and a Angel.  If you can be of any assist.  Please respond back!

Welcome to the CO board, Geena.  Sorry it is a little slow. Where in CO are you, if you don't mind me asking.  Your 'journey' sounds a lot like mine.  I was 311 the day of surgery  (8/21/06) and my goal is 150.  Surgeon didn't give me one.  He asked what I wanted and I guess since he agreed, he didn't need to set a goal for me.  I'm currently down 140 lbs.  I'm only 19 away from that goal. Welcome Geena! This board just seems to be a little slow.  I think we can all work on changing that!  I am 3 1/2 months out and down 75#.  I go to the support group that my nutritionist runs.  It is at Swedish medical center.  Let me know if you want any further information.  Shelly

Hi Geena,  I have not had my surgery as of yet.  Still looking for funding, but I enjoy reading all the inspiring stories.  My surgery was scheduled for today as a matter of fact (insurance issues).  It has been postponed until I can come up with my out of pocket share.  I am African American, just havent had a chance to upload my picture.  My doctor is Dr. Tillquist, I also go to the support group at Swedish on the second Monday.   We can be each others support.  GOD BLESS!

Hi, Geena!  What part of Colorado are you in? I'm afraid this board is a little slow; have you tried posting on the main boards? I'm two months out from a revision from lap-band to a simplified bypass.... And I use Obesity Help as my support group, since my surgeon's group is two hrs. away..... Nice to meet you! Nancy
