I just finished my psych and nutritional evaluation.I have also done a sleep study and EGD in the last week and a half.I think I go to the Doctor every other day!!  I hope to get everything submitted next week for approval and get a date! How long has it usually taken to get a date from this point?

It all depends on how long it takes your ins. co to approve you.  Once I had my approval, I had an appointment with the Surgeon abd got my date that day.  I was able to pick my date as I wanted it in May, and I was approved in March.  GOOD LUCK!

I had my date when I went for my initial consultation...but my approval came 4 days before my surgery date! Talk about cutting it close. That was nerve wracking, but at least I didn't have to lose sleep until the last 4 days!

Dr. Fedorak was my surgeon and I can't say enough about him.  From the time I went to the seminar to the day of my surgery was 3 months, but it depends on your insurance on how long it takes them to approve you. I would stay on top of Jody, she is the one who processes all the insurance paper work for  dr. Fedorak. Good luck to you, having surgery was the best gift I ever gave myself.

All in all it took just a little over 3 months for me.  Yes, you will feel like you are ALWAYS in a doctor's office for awhile.  It will level off though.

Dr. Fedorak was also my surgeon.  As Sapphire stated, stay on top of Jody.  She seems so much busier now then when I had my surgery.  There have been a couple of people that have had to repeatedly call her.   Good luck!
