Diana,

Do you know a family in Eagle with Alpaca's?  That is what is on your picture, right?  I get Llama's and Alpaca's mixed up. Chrissy

I have seen quite a few newer homes in Castle Rock with a good size acreage behind them in your price range. It's a little further than 30 minutes, but the price would be better.

I live in Brighton and we are at 168th between I 25 and  hwy 85  there are new homes all along this road.  It is out in the country and the homes are great.  If you need a realitor in this area I have a really sweet lady that goes the mile for you until you are in your home.  I can give you the information if need.  Also there are homes in what they call the Reunion area which is 104th and Tower.

Yes, Reunion is the newer development in Commerce City/Brighton area, very nice homes, not sure if they have acerage.  But would be very close to the new stadium.  Anywhere in Colorado WILL get snow.  But the others are right, tends to be less closer to the mountains than out east in what they call the plains, the snow really builds up there and cripples the roads, you can't go anywhere at all.  Staying a bit closer in to the city is a better idea, another place that is really starting to grow but is still small enough is Watkins.  Watkins is at edge of Aurora now but can probably hit C-470 to get over to the stadium area.  I live in Aurora and love it, of course I work close to my home so that is easy, a commute anywhere along i-25 can be difficult as well as some parts of I-70.  Generally spring and fall are great, winters can be either way either harsh and long or short and not too bad, summers can get pretty hot usually in the 90'****ting 100 or over a few days.  I hope that helps.

Brighton is on the short list. Commerce City not so much from what I have been told.  We have ruled out the plains areas we are basically look at Arvada, Aurora, Parker, Brighton areas and possibly Elizabeth BUT I think that will be too far outside of town. Thanks tfor the real estate referral, I have a lady my brother used when he moved to greeley, I will be using her unless she complately fails me when I go there next month.

Thanx for the input

Thought you (and maybe others) might find this interesting.  Please disregard the part about Denver being the 'mile-high city' because of it's elevation.  But, anyway...

I am not sure if anyone has responded to your messeage but welcome to the Denver area.  You may want to look at the  Litttleton /Centennial area.  Is 1/2 from downtown  and has agreat schools if u have kids.   Its a upper middle class community has a old town area  but also  alot of new upcoming areas.  Excellent if raising a family.  the drive to Commerce City would be about 45 min. not sure if u are accustom to traffic, I-25/70 can be busy in rush hour.   Good luck on your house hunting.

I live in So Cal it takes 1hr to get to the corner market. I dive 150-200 miles a day. While I am used to traffic I am hoping to avoid it.

Thanx everyone we are coming out 1st week of Sept to look around at houses and schools for the kids.
