Eat to Live, Stop Living to Eat by Ginger Brinkhaus available at; www.gingersgourmet.com If you want net catbs for the recipes, subtract the grams of fiber from the total carbohydrates RATIO; is a calculation of relative protein values taught by Denver Bariatrics nutrition classes.  It is a guideline I follow to assure that I am staying within a healthy calorie to protein ratio.  I personally eat no more than 15 carbohydrates per meal.   The calculation is this; take the total calories and divide them by the total protein grams.  By this guideline you live 90% of the time within 15.  Combine foods for a total ratio. Example; pizza crust has 187 calories and 9 grams of protein, the monterey topping has 148 calories and 24 grams of protein.  The combined total of calories is 335 and the combined total protein grams is 33.  End result is 335/33 = 10  a perfect number  even if you only eat half of the pizza , it is still a 10 for each meal. Pizza crust 2 cups whole wheat pastry flour 1/2 cup soy flour 1/4 cup parmesan cheese 1 tbsp olive oil 2 tsp yeast 1 1/2 cup skim milk 3/4 cup oat bran cereal 1/2 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp Italian seasoning 1 tsp honey 1 tsp salt heat milk to 110 degrees in a microwave safe bowl, pour into a large bowl.  sprinkle the yeast over the milk evenly and drizzle honey over all to feed it.  let set for 10 minutes.  add the remaining ingredients and mix dough until elastic.  cover and keep in a 70-90 degree area and allow to double in size.  punch down and knead for three minutes, divide into 8 equal size pieces.  lightly flour surface and roll each piece into an 8 inch round, thin crust.  place on baking sheet and allow to rise and double in size before topping and baking.   makes 8 thin crust individual pizzas  calories 187  ratio 20 Traditional topping (1 personal pizza) 1/4 cup marinara 1 tbsp peppers 1 tbsp onions 4 oz turkey sausages 1/4 cup- 2% mozzarella
