Hi I am new to this forum

Hello everyone! I am new to this forum. My surgery is scheduled on July 30, 2007 with Dr. Thomas Brown. If anyone has any suggestions for me prior to surgery or have had experiences with Dr. Brown, I would love to hear from you! Thanks! Alexa

Congrats Alexa on taking the next step towards the rest of your life!  You are not going to regret it!  I am six weeks post op and down 36 pounds!  If you have any questions, just ask.  I didn't have Dr. Brown, I had Dr. Chae at Sky Ridge, but I will try to answer any questions you have.  Good Luck!  Anne

Thanks Anne! I am sure I will have a ton of questions as the surgery gets nearer. How long after your surgery were you able to go back to work? Are you really tired or do you have your energy back?

I went back to work after two weeks.  I am a mental health counselor in private practice out of my home, so it wasn't too hard.  All I had to do was walk downstairs and I was at work.  It is kinda nice, I have to admit.  But, I was pretty tired for the first month.  I have had alot of energy over the past two-three weeks.  So,  you do get your energy back when your body gets used to the sudden reduction in caloric intake. Just let me know if you have any other questions!  :)Anne

Welcome to OH, Alexa!  Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I had surgery in Colorado Springs, but I may be able to answer questions that aren't doctor/facility related.  Just let me know. As far as any suggestions, at this point, mind your doctor.  What he says, do.  Good luck!

Hi there,  Welcome to the Colorado boards and congrats on your surgery date.  I am hoping to have surgery with Dr. Brown but not sure yet and have not met him.  Us Coloradans are going to meet on 7-7-07 in Castle Rock at the outlets if you are interested in coming and building your support network.  Hope to see you there.  Jennifer
