Go****'s so hot and I have no central air, it's not great.  I bought a portable unit last year and it's okay but makes it muggy in here.  Anyone else feeling the heat as much as me?  So it's been 8 weeks for approval and I am trying to lose but keep getting sidetracked.  Any suggestions?

Its not so bad here in Woodland Park. We usually have a cool breeze to help. Don't know what to tell you about the diet. I don't diet at all cause I firmly believe that if any of them worked, none of us would need to have surgery. I did have to do a 6 month supervised diet, but my doctor gave me Fastin. This did help as it help with my hunger, but I cannot stay on it forever, and I have to get off of it once I get approved.

I am in the same boat with you on the heat.    I just hate it , have to take a road trip next weekend to pick up my pregnant daghter,  that is going to be a long trip.   So you have your approval or are you waiting for it?

I have approval, there is a long wait list at Kaiser, it's horrible waiting, but I don't mind so much.  At least I know I am approved and that means alot.  I know there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

i have heard that kaiser was a hard one to get approval from.  There are a couple people at work with Kaiser and they are having to jump thru the hoops.  Glad that you have your approval and yes the wait can be hard to do,  I know the little wait i had from late december to February was a long time, but it is sure worth it.  Are you doing the lap band or the other one?  I did the lap band and I love it.  Keep in touch

I was going to do lap band but have since changed my mind.  I am pretty sure I want to do Gastric Bypass now.  There are multiple reasons why, but mostly you lose faster with Gastric and I am just tired of this fat body.  Also there are not the problems down the road as much so as with lap band.  Both are great procedures and everyone has reasons for picking the one the want.  But I have been researching it a lot and feel it is the right decision for me.

That is awesome you have done great in the last few months, you can't knock that at all.  There is a gal in my office that had lap band done on 4-17-07 and she is really starting to slim down.  Some of the things that could happen down the road are esophogus and/or stomach prolapse, erosion of the stomach from the band and slippage.  Those things just scare me.  However I'm not sure how common they are either.  It sounds like you made the right decision for yourself and that is what counts.  I have such a long way to go yet, who knows what could happen.
