on the board & thought wow....life! lol! i came to fort carson in january from alabama. they alabama board is always rockin! there was always something going on supportwise....meetings, luncheons, suppers, reunions, etc......while i did not always make it to them, i do miss that. it was like family! i sure hope that can happen here. from what i have gathered, there are monthly meetings @ penrose, but they are not always posted. i have not noticed any other meetings, except for a posting about one in pueblo (i think!) my hubby will be deploying this summer & i REALLLLLY need a support system. maybe we can set up some get togethers or something. c'mon....let's get this party started...... bon ps....for anybody who hasn't already....check out the alabama board, you won't meet a nicer bunch of people or better support system!

Hi there,  Welcome to Colorado, I hope you will enjoy all it has to offer.  I am fairly new to the site but would love more chats.  I wish I would have done this surgery a long time ago because this waiting is killing me.  I hope to have it in Dec.  So Ft. Carson is on the south side of COS but would love to plan some get togethers too.  Get to know some more people and get a great support group for this state.  Talk to you soon. Jennifer

Hello and welcome, the support group meetings at Penrose are the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month and also the 2nd & 4th Fridays.  They begin at 6:30.  I know that there are several folks from Fort Carson that usually attend those groups.  I have heard that there are support group meeitngs at Fort Carson, but really can't speak to them.  I do know the group at Penrose is always trying to get things going, they are looking to start a Saturday Walking/Hiking group and stuff like that.  Gayle

hey bonnie it is nikki. always on alabama board anymore. did you get my message that they miss you. think you are the sweetest person. still eating oatmeal and string cheese and chicken. sfcib's happy with that for right now. my pouch doesn't get as crabby lately. don't want to stretch it out. i am at my sisters in utah for 2 more days. horror stories here of people having the surgery and after a couple of years gaining all the weight back and plus some. scarry huh. ttyl nikki
