Feeling Better~Thank You!!
Okay, I am feeling much better! I think I had my first emotional reaction to having this surgery. Thank you to those *****sponded it helped tremendously! I have worked in the food and it is going down nicely! I do miss the drinking though, more than I thought I would. My favorite so far is cottage cheese with crushed pineapple! Funny thing is, I NEVER liked cottage cheese before. Go figure! Have a great Memorial Day! :)
Hello Anne...I am 13 months out from surgery and I remember well what you are going through. I am a good cook and love to cook for my family. I still do make them their foods and have adjusted their foods some so I can eat it also. But...at first I felt lonely too because I couldn't stand to smell or look at food at first. I was weak and tired and with still cooking found I was getting angry at them for wanting food when I couldn't...but I realized that if for a little while I sat in the living room while they ate I wasn't as upset. And then after about two weeks I found I could sit with them again and maybe not enjoy my meal but at least still have fellowship with them until I could enjoy the food.
Now I still struggle with some of the food that I fix them and I can't have but not nearly as bad as before. My favorite thing is cottage cheese..yes how strange that is say when I also did not cottage cheese. But now I mix it with 1T of sugar free Polaner raspberry preserves or blackberry (buy at Walmart)..so yummy!
Just do not give up and get the water and protein in..on the topic of water, what helped me was buying SF DaVinci flavored syrups and putting it in my water..not as sweet as Crystal Light but enough flavor to make it palitable. I buy them at Sam's Club near the coffee. I love Caramel flavor and Kahluah flavor.
Hope this helps. You will do this and it does get easier. Just take one day at a time. I will be prayng for you. I am down 148lbs from 290.
