Deep Breathing Difficulty

I am four days out and have been using the breathing thing they gave me in the hospital; however, it still is difficult to take a deep breath. Is this normal? Just checking? Also, have some major muscle soreness in shoulders and down back. I think the gas has worked itself out, so not sure what this is about. Any thoughts?

It is normal. In fact, I had to go home on oxygen because I couldn't breathe deeply. It will get easier. Also, at 4 days out, the gas isn't all out, and that's your soreness. It all gets better! Good luck!

Hi, I just wanted to know? You had the surgery four days ago? How bad is the pain? I am working with my Doctor and probably will have the surgery in about 3 to 4 weeks. Thanks, for any information anyone can send me . Thanks

I ended up with horrible back pain for a couple weeks after RNY. Surgeon said it was from being on the table too long and being in a hospital bed too long. I ended up going to a chiropractor and had a rib out. After about 5 visits, it was bearable and then completely resolved. I think all of what you are experiencing is normal. It gets better!
