I do so well all day long but after my 2 oz I pick, pick, pick....I end up with a bad, bad tummy ache and feel just awful. One would think that would stop me but it doesn't. I graze on cheese sticks, deviled eggs, tuna salad. Nothing bad, just that I don't need any more. Help...I am afraid I will stretch my pouch too soon and stop losing weight at a good pace. Donna

Hi Donna, I understand, I do the same thing some days. It's a habit I had before surgery and knew I'd have to change. My nutritionist made me stop and think when she said we should feel hungry for a good hour before we eat. I'd never heard that before. I'd always just eat when I felt a little hungry, thus the grazing. Now I try to pay attention to that and use it as the time to get more water in, since I'm not getting enough water in now days (I used to drink a lot!) I also just started this - if I'm about to graze I stop and either write 10 times, or say it 10 times if I don't have time to write "Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels." I hope this helps. Know you're not alone! ;-) Teresa

Thank you Teresa...I will certainly try that. Any technique that will help is worth trying. I want to keep losing so I have got to get this under control. Thank you, Donna

It's just about impossible to stretch your pouch. It will relax some with time, but stretching it is not likely.

It is NOT nearly impossible to stretch your stomach after surgery!!! Please do not think this!! I know a woman who had the surgery TWO times because she stretched her stomach right back to where she started after the first surgery!! Please don't think that - or yo're fooling yourself. Instead of grazing... try to do something, occupy yourself, your hands. Maybe write. Keep a journal handy, and instead of picking or grazing grab the journal and write. Even if you write "Stop Grazing, I'm not hungry" like 100 times... do something to distract yourself and your mind. Please... you MUST do something to break that grazing because YES you CAN stretch your stomach out - it is EASY to do, don't fool yourself or anyone else!!!

Hello, That is one of my biggest fears is to continue to eat (grazing) AFTER surgery. I do not want to do that. yesterday, I had my appointment with the dietician and she and the surgeon both told me the pouch WILL stretch. If you graze it will stretch. If you over eat or drink it will stretch. If you drink soda it will stretch from the carbonation. I have to find something to do with my hands from the boredom. Good Luck and prayers for youto overcome this. Chris
