How many did advanced directives
I did an advanced directive prior to surgery and listed my sister as the deciding party. She and I had a nice long talk about what I would and wouldn't want in the unlikely event that something catastrophic happened. I'm two years out now and doing fine so it never took effect.
I had an attorney friend of mine write it up for us. I don't remember anything about feeding tubes. Hope this helps a little.

I did my advanced directives a few years ago only cause i thought it was necessary to do and besides my father was on a vent and I knew I never wanted that for myself and nurses was telling all of the family that we should have one in place at all times so i did mine. I still have not changed my mind about anything i put in it and I have given it to drs offices and hospitals so that they will have it in case something does go wrong at anytime. Mine does talk about feeding tube also which I have said no too but that is my own wishes.
After a long talk with my mom, I told her that if I was in such bad shape that I would not live the rest of my life out as a fully functioning person, that I was to be taken off life support.
The hospital just gave me a piece of paper that I wrote my wishes on and was considered just as valid as anything a lawyer could have drawn up.
