Time it took to submitt to insurance
For those of you that are Dr. Snyder's patients...from the time that Dolly received all of your medical info, how long did it take her to fax your stuff to the insurance company??? I dropped off the last of my info to Dolly on monday and was wondering how long I can expect to wait from here? I am so excited and nervous I can hardly stand it! Hopefully she works quickly and I will have approval soon!! Let me know what your experience was.
Thanks!

Hi Nikki!
I don't have a date set yet. The surgeons office won't set a date until they have approval from the insurance co. I have already completed my psych eval, nutiritionist, and pulmonery eval. I had to have all of that done for Cigna. So right now I am just waiting for the insurance lady at the surgeon's office to fax my paperwork to Cigna.
How exciting for you, April 30th will be here in no time! What insurance do you have?? I have the neame of a great nutritionist who has worked with patients wanting WLS forever. She knows exactly what the insurance companies want to see. I only had to see her once and I paid cash ($100). I just needed a letter from her stating that I was dieting correctly and that I had the kowledge to succeed with WLS. Email me if you need her name and number. Anyway, congrats on getting a date. Let me know how everything else goes!

Morgan I had surgery with Dr Snyder in January and it took about 14 days or so to be faxed to my insurance company. I was constantly calling the insurance company and kept being told that they had not received any information. Therefore, I had to leave Dolly several messages which she did not return. I finally had to send an e-mail to Dr. Snyder and I had a phone call from Dolly within 48 hours stating that I had been approved.
Danielle-
Thanks so much for the response! I spoke with Dolly on thursday and she said that the documentation of my 6 month diet was not detailed enough so I took care of all of that on friday and had it faxed to her friday afternoon. She has everything she needs now and I'm really hoping she will fax everything out today. The waiting is killing me! I just want to hear the word APPROVED already. I'll make sure to keep up on Dolly and the insurance company. Wish me luck!

I also had a really hard time dealing with Dolly. It seemed like months before I was finally told I was denied. I had gotten pregnant after I saw Dr. Snyder for the first time. So kind of forgot about the surgery. Well then had a miscarriage and got back on the ball with insurance. Then was denied and she was of No help with my appeal. Did it on my own and was approved.
I always sent a copy of my emails to Dr Snyder also when I was trying to get ahold of her and that seemed to help. You just have to stay on top of it with her. Once I was approved, she was great getting me scheduled for the surgery.
Good luck and let us know what happens.

Chrissy-
Thanks for the reply! So far Dolly has been good about responding to my phone calls and emails. My dad did have some troubles getting phone calls returned like you said. I'm one of those annoying patients who HATES waiting so if I call and don't hear back from her by the end of the day I call again, and then again in the morning lol. I can't help it though, I feel like I've waited long enough and now that we can get the ball rolling I don't want ANYTHING to get in my way. I guess the medically supervised diet and approval process has been an exercise in patientce more than anything. I'll make sure and let you all know if any news comes up. Cross your fingers for me. I just want a quick and easy approval!!!
Thanks,
Morgan
