New to OH
Hi Everyone. My name is Sharon and I am writing for the very first time. I started the surgery journey two years ago and was well prepared for the gastric bypass. In the end I chickened out. I just was not ready. In January 2007 I was at the clinic and noticed a sign for Lap Band Surgery. I asked for a referral, it was granted, I met the surgeon and had the proceedure done on February 7, 2007. I will see my doctor again on April 10 for my 2 month check-up. I lost 13 pounds in that first month, so I am anxious to find out what the second month did. I am very happy to be in this situation and happy to now be part of this forum. I am sure that I will have lots of questions over the next few months. Very glad to be meeting you. Sharon
Thanks for the welcome Crystal.
Today has been a very funny day for me. My daughter had her gallbladder removed yesterday by my same surgeon and she is still in the hospital. Today I was there to see here and soooo many people were asking me how I am feeling, etc. I finally asked one nurse, "uh do I know you?" He replied that he was my nurse when I had my surgery. Seems I did alot of talking while in the hospital. Guess it was not bad, I complimented everyone for whatever reason and became the talk of the hospital. OOPS. But it was nice to have people notice my improvements. Just wish I could remember what I said.
Anyway, thanks and I will be sending out the questions. Sharon
Hi Sharon! Nice to have you in the LapBand Family! I had my surgery March 1, 2007 and doing great. I almost did the bypass as well, but was nervous about the intensity of it. I have no regrets on doing the LapBand. I've lost a total of 30 pounds so far and I'm feeling great! I'm going to be joining an exercise class soon so that I can tone up. Nice to meet you.

Hi Connie in Colorado Springs. Where did you have your surgery? Mine was at the Air Force Academy. Where do you go for a support group and where are you going for the exercise? How are you feeling? That 30 pounds feels wonderful doesn't it. I hope you do better than me in the second month. I only lost three pounds. I was so disappointed. I had a second fill today and I am really feeling awful. Maybe it was filled too much. Have you had your first fill yet? Thanks for responding. Sharon
