Looking for doctor near Colorado Springs Colorado
Hello All,
It's been a while since I have posted. Anyway, I was banded 10 months ago and feel fabulous. I feel so fabulous that a good friend of mine is considering on getting the surgery since her insurance most likely will cover it. She too wants to feel good again and walk with out back pain. I was wondering if anyone in the Colorado area could recommend a doctor for my friend. She lives in Pueblo so Colorado Springs would be the closest big town for her to go to.
Thank you,
Marci
I would recommend Chae in Denver. I meet with both of the doctors who do the surgery in Colorado Springs but I did not care for the office or the staff. I also toured the Hospital Bariatric floor and was not pleased. It seems the staff had no knowledge of the surgery or the people having it done. That is why I went to Chae in Denver. I know the military hospitals in town do the surgery so if she has Tricare she could go there. I have 3 friends who did have the surgery at the bases. I hope this will help her.

I'm with Robyn, Dr. Chae is at Sky Ridge, the hospital on the southern end of the Denver Metro Area. I had a friend who used one of the big docs in the springs and just didn't do well. Sky Ridge has a whole floor dedicated to WLS patients and the nurses know exactly what to do. Chae and his staff are INCREDIBLE!!! Kelly, the nutritionist, really knows what she's talking about. I also found that the follow up care is great. Everytime I called with a question either Dr. Chae or his staff got back with me ASAP.
I called the hospital in advance and asked for a TV/DVD player and they had one delivered to my room. I don't remember a thing that we watched on the TV, but since my kids were with me a lot (teenagers) they enjoyed having something to watch. Kept them ocupied.
