Hi all! Well, I met with Dr Brown on Thursday and am ready for surgery on Tuesday afternoon at PSL in Denver. I spent the week eating all my favorite foods and still managed to lose weight, so that is a good thing. I started the liquid diet this morning with sugar free jello and Propel for breakfast. Hopefully I can keep it going until surgery. Any advice? Any words of wisdom or motivation? Sherry in Denver

Hello and thank you! My surgery is scheduled for 12:30pm, but they want me there at 9am just in case the doctor is running ahead of schedule and can get me going earlier. So, it could start anywhere from 11-12:30 I guess. I'll update when I get back home or maybe have my husband update here for me if he gets a chance. Gotta go grab a popcicle. YUM! Sherry

Sherry, If you have some favorite soups just drain off the broth and put everything else in a freezer bag to make soup later; this is better than broth. Or if you have a Whole Foods close to you they have cartons of clear broth in Veggie, beff, chicken, onion. Yummy and you can pour into the little glad cups and freeze so when you come home you have a variety of things to eat. They also have soups that are good for your full liquids stage. Good luck and see you on the other side. Jenn

Thanks for the message. Yes, I had my surgery and was at PSL from 3/20-3/22. I don't remember my nurse's name, but I did have a really great nurse. However, it did not sound like she was married although she might have been. She talked about having had major heart surgery a few years earlier and staying with a nurse friend of hers to recover. Does that sound like your DIL? Good luck with your journey towards surgery. It will change your life! Sherry
