I am having the rny. And of course the pepsi is leaded. I never could drink diet. My dad always did. So changing to the decaffinated tea with splenda will be my choice. Do i have too do that now before my first appt. or that day. I am going to check to see when the next support group for denver is.

Hi Nikki, I live in Craig now and had my Surgery July of 05 in Memphis, Tn. You will be fine after surgery. It will be hard and that I will not lie to you about, but you will be fine. There will be things you can't eat and things you don't want to eat but that too will ease up and get better. Trust me you will not be able to eat much and it will amaze you. The smoking thing was hard but I did it in May of that year after smoking for 17 years. I also was drinking diet cokes and that was hard to. I had headaches for several days. The thing that helped me was thinking to myself that I wanted this more than anything and nothing was going to keep me from that. I just kept telling my self that. Also, deep heavy breathing helped me alot with the smoking. Everytime I wanted one I took a big deep breath and if that didn't work I would find something to do to keep from picking up a cigarette and basically kept talking to myself (in my own head LOL othewise people would have thought I was crazy) and saying you want this and that cigarette is not going to keep you from it. My doctor would not have performed surgery if I had been smoking and tested me right before surgery to make sure I had no nicotine in my system. I knew he was going to test me and I kept that in my mind as well. Whenever you need someone to talk to you can shoot me an email at [email protected] Tara
