PCP in Springs

Hi- am new to the area and am looking for a PCP that could do my labwork- does anyone have a good PCP that's familiar with RNY issues? Thanks- Holly

It's a good question. I am in the springs but I am military so I am kinda stuck with my army docs. I am thinking of going offpost when I can afford it later on. My current doc didn't understand why I couldn't take giant horsepills for back pain right after my surgery. Argh! Good luck with your search though. ~Christal/dionysus_star

Christal~~ Dr. Daniel Lange is great in the Family Practice Clinic and you can ask to be asigned to him. His PA( I can't remember his name is great and the FNP for the team is great), I tried to bring doctor Lange to California with me but his wife and many kids could not move. You need to be clear on which lange as there are two Dan and Steve, Steve was good also but I only saw him once in the after hours clinic. Well better run and do my errands. Jenn

I used to see Dr. Daniel Lange and he wasn't very supportive of my troubles with weight loss. Dr. Sockloguest said she has PCOS and she's not overweight so I just need to work harder and that she doesn't support weight loss surgery. Now I am seeing Dr. Klutinoty, which I like...but he doesn't know anything about the surgery...he didn't understand why I couldn't swallow giant pills after surgery. *sigh* At least he is nice and will actually call you to make sure everything is ok. I think that is the best I can hope for out of a military doc. ~Christal/dionysus_star

That is surprising of doc Lange. We I told him I was having it done he was very supportative of it and took the time to learn about my after care. I did not think they did the surgery there back in 2002 because I am old school Champus days. So I never asked only was setting up to take the insurance at work and have it done. Dr. Lange sent me upto the surgery clinic for a Hernia and it was there that they did the education they did it there. I like the docs in the surgery clinic. Wilcox of course because he did mine, Harkabus us good he did rounds when I was in for ryn and tt. I can't say anything about Imlay as last time I knew he had only done 2 ryn's. One in 2001 and Vickie Laplante's 3 days before I had mine and he never came to any of the Dr. nights they had for support group.

He is the one that recommended the surgery and has been very helpful and knowlegeable after the surgery. If he's not familiar with something, he carries around a lap top and gets on the WEB right there in the room with me OR he'll get the answer and get back to me quickly. CeeDee

Dr John Okeefe and or Dr Steve Ryan. They are one of the best, have a lab within there offices. Dr Okeefe is very supportive of Gastric Bypasses also. If you have not been to a support meeting, I suggest that you attend. The meetings are extremely important to everyone who is thinking of surgery. I use Lynn Huffman, she's very nice, been going to her for several years. I also like Joyce Michael (DO) in the same practice and their PA, Jill Parker. Stay far far away from Perri Dombacher, she is as anti-WLS as they get. Kent Roberson is a neighbor, great guy, and super wife/family.
