OT: Affordable lodging for 1 month?

I am trying to have surgery with Dr. Wilcox at Ft Carson and they want me to stay in the area, ie, Colorado Springs. I am looking for a cheap hotel room or something that rents by the week or month. I can stay on base but it is $55 a night and I can't afford too many nights like that. If anyone in that area knows of a safe place I would appreciate it.

I don't have the Fisher House web site available but if you goggle search it and call them they have gotten the cost reduced at the Ivy Inn for medical purposes. I know they did that for a gentelman who had surgery at Carson and it even covered his wife while he was in. If I was still in the area I would be happy to host you at my house but that's in CA now. When you see Dr. Wilcox,Sally and Marge give them all a big hug for me, Jennifer Avery as they know me. Thank you so much. I have been offered a place to stay by a very sweet member of OH. I am awed by her generosity and the love and care I have recieved from everyone on here : ) I just hope she doesn't decide she hates me when she meets me : )

Thanks! I have a place to stay Anna O. has been great and offered me a place. I would love to have others in the area to talk to also. I am a little scared and a lot nervous I have to drive down on the 27th and go to appts on the 28th and drive home on the 1st. Then I should know my surgery date and when I will come to stay in Colorado. I am gonna miss my husband
