my lap band surgery got cancelled!!
I was to drive up to Scottsbluff, day after tomorrow (today is Tuesday Jan 23 2007) which would be next Thursday morning.
My appointment was at noon for a work-up for surgery early Friday (26th) A.M.
Then I got a call that said my surgeon this morning with the news that Dr. Holloway broke his elbow. I just couldn't believe it.
First I want to say that I hope Dr. Holloway has a speedy and rapid recovery. But to be truthful I'm recovering from being in shock and disappointment.
I'm human, and I can't say it didn't disappoint me.
HOWEVER, there are a lot of other positive things in my life right now, and I know that this shall eventually be taken care of.
A big THANK YOU to Dot, she called me and said she would get me back on the surgery schedule as soon as possible, and that I was at the top of the stack of paper of things to do, to get it back on track.
I thanked her, and told her I hoped Dr. Holloway would be back in action soon, and that I hoped he was OK.
Make lemonade, is what this is saying!
God is with me, so I'm always in HIS will. EVEN IN THIS!
Thanks to all the nice people who sent me good wished for a good surgery, and I will keep those and read them again, when the time comes around, again.
I'll keep everyone posted. Again thank you to all you sweet people who wished me well and were praying for me!! (It turns out I needed the prayers, we all need prayers!)
Sincerely
Rebekah L.
Rebekah,
I am sorry to hear about your surgery. I know that it is a disappointment but use this time to your advantage. I had a delay also and took the time to assure myself that I was ready, continued with exercising and following the pre-op diet so that I knew I was in control before the surgery and would be in control after.
