surgery on the 24th (RNY)

Hello everyone, my surgery is in 5 more days im so excited. i have been on liquids sence tuesday, i wi**** was only for 2 days i would have had it done by now. lol but im making it thru it, yukkkk. i did the last of my tests and seen the nurse today, so im ready to getter done. i did come up with a question for you colorado people, after rny surgery and you heal up over a yr or more time do you seem to get more colds and flu than you did before the surgery, just wondering, you have to eat so little but then again you weigh less. cant wait untill im on the loosing side, shawnna

Hi shawnna, Congrats on your upcoming surgery! I am only 6 months out, but I have only caught one cold so far. I thought that was pretty good. I work in a school, so there is always something going around. I did make sure and get the flu shot, just in case. I also make sure to take my vitamins and get enough protein in. I take the vistavitamins and order my protein from Susan Marias site - bariatriceating.com. I love everything that she has and she is an amazing person! I have noticed that with all of the cold weather we have been having that I am definitly colder than before. A good problem to have though! I just dress a little warmer. It feels strange to be cold! Thank you Liz and Dee for your encouraging words, now that im only 2 days away im little nervous about getting thru the procedure but i know in my head that it will be fine. I bet i will worry about getting enough of the protein and calcium as soon as i get out of recovery, lol. I have been big my whole life and i cant wait untill i can buy cloths of the rack and have the energy to run and play with my 2 kids ages 3 and 4. ty again, shawnna
