I am 9 months out from RNY and recently changed insurance to Kaiser. I am having trouble finding a WLS-knowledgeable PCP, does anyone know of a Kaiser doctor in the Denver area who won't tell me things like, "Take your b12 orally"? (Idiots!) Thanks!

Nicole, it might be worth a try to call Kaiser and ask them. Personally, I find it a wonderful insurance company and I love that they are a a non-profit health plan. "Kaiser Permanente is composed of Kaiser Foundation Health Plans (nonprofit, public-benefit corporations), Kaiser Foundation Hospitals (a nonprofit, public-benefit corporation), and the Permanente Medical Groups (for-profit professional organizations)."

I've contacted Kaiser's Member Services as well as my surgeon (non-Kaiser) and neither were really able to help me. Do you know of a WLS-knowledgeable PCP in the Denver area?

Which Kaiser clinic do you want to use? When I came to Colorado, I called the Weight Management counselor at the clinic I wanted to use and asked who he would recommend as WLS-friendly/knowledgeable. After he gave me a few names, I looked at Kaiser's online site where it gives mini-bios on the docs, and went from there. Of course, you also need to check to make sure the doctor is accepting new patients. Kix
