Suregery went great
I am home from surgery and it couldn't have gone smoother. The most difficult part was the fact that I have lousy veins so it took 4 people and 7 sticks to get an i v going. But they deadened it up with lydocane which no other hospital has ever done, so I didn't feel anything. I just knew they were having problems so it raised my stress level. (Can you imagine "I'm sorry Ms W but we cannot perform surgery as we cannot find a vein.") Anyway, the surgery was textbook. No leaks, no pain or discomfort, no nausea. I was very thirsty the first 2 days because there were no liquids, but on Friday I had the tests done to check for leaks and then I was treated to grape juice and warm broth. Whoee! Anyway, I went home 2 days after surgery, stayed at my sisters for 2 days because she felt the need to baby me (totally unnecessary but I ate it up.) And now it is Sunday evening and I am back in my home and to this very minute, still no pain, discomfort or nausea, and the drainage inscision is almost 100% healed already. I feel like I hit the surgery jackpot. I go to the surgeon on Friday, and will be on nothing but clear liquids until then, but hopefull after that he will start me on something soft. Thanks for all the advice, the prayers and the encouragement.
