Just thought that I would catch up a little, I got an absess in my tummy, pretty gross one to. Have had it cleaned and flushed so many times. I feel much better. I set me back about two weeks, But I am still loosing weight. I have lost about 23lbs now. Very happy about that. Still a little weak but starting to feel much better. I hope everyone is doing well! Dear Liz Thank you for the concern you showed earlier when I was going thru the potassium scare. I am much better now. They were really worried about my heart, and so I have been having blood work every week and taking potassium pills, as well as concentrating on getting more potassium rich foods in my diet. I was concentrating so much on protein that there was never enough room in my teeny tiny stomach for veggies and fruit. I am remedying that by drinking my potassium. Lots of orange juice, apple juice, v-8 and like that. I did not know that if electrolytes get out of whack you can have a heart attack, just as surely as if you were not getting enough protein. But you live and you learn, so now I am a lot more informed. I feel better and though I will have to be monitored closely for awhile, I know I did the right thing in having this surgery. They say the first 6 months is like boot camp and you have to put a lot of new things into practice, but I am very excited about learning all there is to know to get my health back under control. Thanks again for your words of encouragement. Hope things are going well with you. On Nov 19th I had my first appointment with my surgeon and I weighed 269. As of monday, I weigh 227 lb, so I have lost 42 pounds. Hope you are doing great. I think of you often. Janet W

I am glad you are felling better. Dr. Wilcox is great, when you see him again give him a hello for me. I had him when he was active duty. Also give Miss Marge and Miss Sally my best, good I love those ladies. I can still remeber crying on Miss Sally's shoulder for half and hour because they had to postpone my surgery. It seems like yesterday but it was 4 and 1/4 years ago. Best of luck and email me if you need any help along the way. Maybe we can meet when I come home in July and August. My son will be back in Colorado in July and I am just going to hang out until the Obesity Help Conference in August. Jenn
