I have a friend who is having a lap-banding 1/11/07. I referred her to OH.com some time ago. I don't know if the site has been helpful to her, but it reminded me of how helpful it was to be before, and just after my surgery- 2+yrs ago. I want to get support here again, as I have gained some of my weight back. I began @ 282, 4/04. All time low was 7/05 @153#. (After Gall Bladder surgery) I've gained to 179#, and am as scared as can be about where I am headed if I don't do something about it FAST! I am renewing my commitment to Slim & Tone. Trying to get in there 3x/wk. I eat about every three hrs. This, I think might be too much... I need to test going longer, and not having snacks available at my desk @ wk. In the past, if I waited more than 3 hrs, my sugar would drop, and I'd get nauseated. My goal is to see 1/2 my all-time high by our 3rd yr anniversary. April 2007. 4 full months to loose it, and some changes to make. My clothes are tight, I don't want to buy more(especially larger) stuff. By reading the most recent posts I see that we're all in varying degrees going throught the same thing... At least I don't feel all alone in this gain. But THIS gain is a big loss for me, and I don't feel good about me or the things I do...

Hi Denise I too am regainimg weight ( My fault). I had the lap band done 12/13/2005..At the time I weighted @ 320 lbs... I did really well going down to 262 lbs....I am now back up tp 290 lbs....I have not had a fill for about 3 months and my eating is out of control. I have an appt. to go to a support class on 1/3/07-- It is a refresher class so that will help. I will get another fill in Feb... We can lose again. Good luck. Joe Sterling, Co

Hi Denise, I am sorry to hear that you are gaining some weight back. I think that big red stop sign has got to pop out or as you have said you will be in trouble. Try not to panic just look at what is happening and where is your program heading and fix it. I am a Curves member and they say if you gain 3lbs it is back on your food program until those 3lbs comes off. I know that is easier said than done, but for me I try to think of where I came from and I know that I do not want to ever go there again. It sounds as though you are heading on the right path, and setting goals for yourself. For me....I am at the point where I am realizing that I am going to have to watch what I eat for the rest of my life or I too will gain back my weight. I started at 318 and now am 142, and I am 21 months post-op. I too am going to clean up my program too for the upcoming year, I want to make better choices and learn to take better care of me. Keep in contact and let me know how you are doing. Aloha, Joyce [email protected]

Hi Denise, I'm Pre-Op but I read the boards to take into consideration any and all possibilities and how I could prepare for them. I'm sure most of this is old hat, but maybe it can help as a reminder? What are you snacking on at work? What about protein? do you have a fridge for use at work? thnking making the snacks less harmful would be a good thing if you are unable to keep from snacking. Home made beef jerky? (you can control the sugar better when you dry it yourself) boiled eggs? cheese bits? LF yogurt? Protein bars? protein drinks? I'm diabetic and really have to concentrate on those danged carbs (which I dearly love). I look at it as pratice tho. NO WHITE meaning breads, potatos, noodles. go WHOLE wheat whenever possible. It's so easy to be thrifty and stretch a meal for the family with carbs and SO detrimental (sp?) to our health. I hope being Pre-Op this hasn't been an unwelcome or inappropriate reply?? Much luck and love! ~Coleen
