Help! My PCP is slowing things up!

I have had all the pre-op tests done and evey time I call my surgeons office they tell me that nothing has been faxed to them yet. I keep calling my doctors office but talking to someone besides office staff is next to impossible. Each time it is a different girl, and each time she says she will take a message and that is the last I hear of it. Everything should have been turned over to insurance already but nothing has even been sent to the surgeons office staff yet. I have made call after call and left message after message and still nothing! And to make matters worse, I think if they are faxing stuff they are sending it to the wrong surgeon. I had a different surgeon four years ago and he is up in Denver. He backed out half way through the pre-op testing because of insurance woes, but when I went to see the nutritionist, the info she had was for the Denver doc and not the Canon City doc. I asked her to take the Denver docs paperwork out of my file as it was no longer valid, and she said they could not remove anything from a patients chart. (If she had only turned her back for five minutes I would have shown her how it was done.) So I called Denver and told them what I was worried about and they said they'd leave somebody a message but that was all I could get out of them. Everybody's leaving everybody messages but no one is getting any faxes. Any suggestions? Help!

I would show up in the office and ask to speak with someone and get it resolved asap. couldn't hurt!!!!!!!!!!! Get a date and time of when all info will be sent. If it isn't sent when they say show up again. They will get sick of you and get it taken care of.

Walk it, walk it all if you can. I found That things got done alot faster if I did it rather than Wait for others to do it. They aren't in any hurry it is not their lives sitting on hold, so get out there and get it done you will be so happy in the long run. TTFN Anna

If you have not already done so, call them, tell them you will be in their office on such and such date at such and such time to pick up the paperwork to take to the surgeon personally. Let them know you have called x number of times and gotten no results and your surgeon insists he needs the paperwork asap. Once you have all that and have had your surgery find another PCP who is cooperative. Perhaps your current one does not really support you in your quest for this surgery. Let us know how this turns out or how it has turned out!
