You can't go wrong with a nice peacoat for going out / casual wear. If you plan to ski - Spyder and North Face are the best brands you can find and they both have very nice women's coats. Check the sales at Dick's Sporting Goods and you'll be good to go! CP

My husband and I are both transplants from warmer climates and had to learn. I personally like the longer coat because my legs get cold. You might want to post a message. You may be surprised to see the coats OH members have hanging in their closets that are just for you! I am in Greeley and run a support group in Longmont so come join us when you land in Northern Colordado.

Colorado Springs can get cold and you will need a good coat from time to time for that. I have a good friend who moved here about a year ago from AL and she gets along quite well. Her main problem was driving in snow but I think I have helped her in that. I live about 90 miles from Colorado Springs and do go there from time to time for one of my dr visits. There are alot of stores there to buy a coat and one I know you will find attractive in.

I am a transplant to Colorado also. I grew up in Benton Harbor Michigan, moved to Chicago and now live in Centennial Colorado and moving back to Chicago for a year. I love the Eddie Bauer Dead Bird Jackets aka Down Jackets. You dont need them everyday but they are good to have when it get cold here. I know down in the Springs it is sometimes warmer than the Denver area. Good luck in your move. Carla Klein
