Help! My son has put me on his insurance so that I can have the surgery but I need to know about GreatWest from someone who has been there. Looking for Docs in Colo Spgs or Canon City or Pueblo who accept GreatWest, and what is the usual co-pay for Drs visits, and hospital stay. Looking for a ballpark figure on what I need to save up before I start the process. Thanx in advance, Jazzyjan

HI, I have Great West Ins. I am using the medical group at Penrose Hospital. It has not been to big of an issue, you do have to pay about $750.00 Up front for psych, nutri, and the follow up care....my co-pay is $35 per visit, and for surgery it is $850.00. THe most important thing to make sure is that you have six months of medically suppervised diet. They did not allow my surgery yet as they felt that 3 years of weigh****chers was not good enough. If you need more info, please e-mail me.

I work for GW and all copays are different, depends on who you work for. My Pysch Eval was 100.00. Dr Snyder has f/u care for a year with free fills and it's free. Dr Snyder is amazing, but he is in the Denver area, quite a ways from where you are. As the above poster said 6 months medically supervised diet is a must, GW seems like one of the easy ones to get approved from what I have experienced and from what i see. Good luck to you.
