1st appointment for what? Your WLS surgen or shrink or nutrition class we are all eger to help, just let us know what you need It is all easy It is insurance that can be hard. Surgery from what I hear is no cake walk but it is the most rewarding walk you'll take. Looking forward to chating with you Anna

Do you know your insurance requirments? I would find out if you need a med. supervised diet for 3 or 6 months. I read its a commen one.You could be getting that under your belt while you wait for an appointment with the surgen.Call the surgens office and get the low down on how it needs to be documented. they are there to help you.

Hey amy, we are using the same doc. My daughter in law is the nurse who takes care of the surgery patients at psl. if that is your hospital choice. I see him in Jan. but first have to have surgery to remove 2 lumps in the gland behind my ear this week. call if you want 303 781 4867

Dear Nikki, I am also disabled and receive Medicare/Medicaid. I had all the required test, diets, Dr. notes and therapist notes before my consult. I have my surgery consult in mid-October. I know that there has to be a 6-month documented diet. Diet needs to be done with a certified nutritionist. You need to have test (MMPI and some other one) done by a psychologist. This is to ensure that you understand the life changes that will occur. NOTE.. Look for a psychologist that is WLS friendly. Also, you'll need your own doctor to verify by letter that you've been obese for at least 5 years. I hope this helps. If I can think of any other requirements I'll pass them on. Good luck and know that the time flies by. I am just a few weeks short of having a date and I'm so excited.. Sincerely, Kelli
