Medicaid requirements

Okay so I found a surgeon who accepts medicaid. Is there anyone out there who has gone through the approval process with Medicaid that would be able to tell me what they require to be approved? Everytime I call Medicaid I get the run around. Thanks

If this is from Colorado Medicaid I can personally tell you that they require you to have done a dietician screening as well as psychiatric evaluation. Once your surgeon turns those in to Medicaid to get pre-authorization...you shouldn't have any problems as long as both can clear you.

You say dietician screening--whats that? is that the same as the nutritionist meeting-- I also heard from my Surgeons office that Colorado Access requires 6 month diet history as documented by a dr. or gym trainer..with weigh in's and measurements. Dont know if its the same for medicaide. I swithced from medicade to colorado Access (before the drop) to be able to stay with the surgeon I liked.
