Hi!! I will be coming to Colorado on the 2nd of July...
to visit my brother who lives in Boulder. He says we are going to the Denver Zoo and an Aquarium (my requests) and also some state park he says I must see. I will be arriving in Denver about 2:30- 2:45pm on Sunday the 2nd and leave at 06:30 am on the 9th. This is a solo trip for me (hubby and my 2 boys 5 and 15 are NOT coming) and the 1st time I have ever been on a plane. I am quite nervous but since I have dropped 130 pounds and am now 205 I think comfort will not be a problem on the plane but again I have never even stepped on one. Joel has already told me that the sun is very bright and to bring a hat and or sunglasses. Anything else I should know? I understand there is like no humidity there and I am in Florida with like 95% humidity but I really don't know how that will affect me since I have lived in Florida all of my 38 years.
Any advise on what to pack, bring, do , visit, make myself get on the plane (non-refundable ticket already purchased) will be greatly appreciated.
Terri
Hi Terri,
Congratulations on your loss!! You have done well. I hope you enjoy your visit here! You will notice the altitude difference when you get here! It has been very hot and dry here this year. I would make sure that you have lotion and sunscreen ready for you when you get here. A hat and sunglasses are a good idea also.
Have a great time with your brother!
Hugs,
Dee
Hi Terri,
Congrats on your amazng success, you must feel wonderful!!
You have gotten good advice, I would just layer your clothes, so you're ready for lots of sunshine and a little bit of rain. Because of the elevation and harsh sun, make sure you stay hydrated. Have fun, Boulder is a neat town.

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science is having an excellent exhibit called "Body Worlds 2". We went to see this in May and it was fascinating! My sibling is somewhat squeamish, yet she was entranced by the exhibits. It's really tastefully done. It will only be in a few US cities this year, and I highly recommend it.
The Museum is in the same general area as the Zoo and the exhibit takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours to view. If you decide to go, be sure to buy your tickets in advance, because the tickets give you a specific time to enter the exhibit. You can buy the tickets online and pick them up on the day you attend the exhibit.
Here is more information on the exhibit:

You might want to have your brother take you up to Red Rocks Amphitheater and Park, it is beautiful there.
Be sure to bring sunscreen, you can get crispy pretty quickly here. At this altitude, some days it feels like we are inches from the sun! Oh, and moisturizer, we have absolutely no humidity here.

Kix,
I think he had mentioned that in one of our earlier emails - sounds like fun. I sent him the link to see what he thinks - basically he is paying for the trip except plane fare and money to bring back stuff for the kids so it is up to him. And honestly, even if we sit in his backyard the whole time, I would be fine with it - just looking forward to getting away.
