Self Pay

I am self pay and wondering if anyone else is??? Would love to here any positive or negatives. Thanks a bunch!!

I am self pay with Dr. Snyder. I got a hurken loan (ugh) I think one of the +'s is speed. You just Call dr. S and say "hey I got money" and I was booked for the next info sesson and for 3 different pre op appointments. The negitives for me is that I am streached to max with this loan. I also got quite a bit of grief from my close hommies about it. I settled it in my heart that I could not wait for 4-7 years more to save up. And I look at it like this. I could get a loan, have surgery, look hot, land a dude who will pay off the loan. Joke. I just got to the point that It was "costing" me more to not have the loan. I was losing more than money. I also ruled out Mexico because I did not want to do international aftercare crap. I also saw more band-problems in my non-scientific viewing of post on this and Lapband talk.com from folks from Mexico. It was also my one concession to my family, not to trape accross the boarder for major surgery, it would have killed em.

what is a hurken loan, and what do you think this op. will cost? I have been thinking of Mexico, but don't wanna. T.K. cedaredge

hurken=big=14,000. I figured I can file bankruptcy in a size 10. I will be able to clear the payments, but oooh baby its close. I found a lender on lending tree.com because I with my credit i could not get interest rates outta the 20's (mine for this is 18.5 which is good for me albeit outragous) I investgated all outta country places--i could not find anyone in my area to do fills. As it is now i gotta go to the Eastern slope as it is (lovely 5-6 hour drive).
