Do any doctors take medicaid?

I have just been approved for medicaid and I have been thinking about the surgery. Does anyone know of any doctors that will accept medicaid? I am haveing trouble getiing the docotrs offices to respond to me. Thanks.

Hi! I have an appointment tomorrow with a surgeon in Canon City who takes Medicaid, Dr. Tim Brown. Of course, I live in Canon City, but maybe if you call and ask them, you can go out of your area. My doc just referred me FINALLY, after asking about help with weight issues for YEARS now. My father passed away suddenly a month ago at 58 from heart attack, had bad CAD, so maybe that is why the doc decided to refer me finally now. guess that makes me more at risk..... good luck!

April hello.What you need to do is find you a primary care doctor and let them know what your plans are and they can possibly give you some names of surgeons that except medicaid I also think that you can try calling Dr.S offices that perform this surgery and ask will they except medicaid and if they do see your primary and tell them that you need a referral to see that clinic or surgeon.Just do a little research its simple sometimes!!! I am also waiting for an answer to see if Dr. Snyder takes Medicade, on his website it shows some medicaide approvals so I am hopeful -if not, I also found out that if you have your primary care phys. fax a referral over to the Longmont Clinic they will have their surgeon look over the referral and try to get medicaide to cover it (dr's name is Kevin Berg)(phone # 303-774-1234(maybe 776-1234-sorry)) When i talked to medicaid a couple of weeks ago they said they do cover the surgery if deemed medically necessary. I know that a year and a half ago Dr. Petine in Fort Collins participated with Medicaid. He did the surgery on a friend of mind. She's doing great! The hospital were she had it done took good care of her and he did as well.
