Topic: RE: First Post: Appt w/ Dr. Hahn in fremont today!
How did this go for you?
Did you lose the weight (they asked for about 10% weight reduction at Kaiser SSF); or did you get the appeal?
I was given a target of 290 (I was 323 when i went in)....and that was quite a while ago. I think i am there now....and am going in today for my appt with a surgeon.
Thanks

Do you go to any support groups in your area?

Topic: RE: Non-Designer Consignment Shoppe??
I took a lot of things to a consignment shop and really didn't make that much money, but I understand the need to get something for them. I went through the same thing and it was agonizing to receive so little for them. I know a lot of people get clothes at consignment and thrift stores on their way down to goal and are able to find some good quality clothes at a bargain price. Now, I have trouble finding things small enough, believe it or not.
Congratulations on getting smaller. It is a great feeling.

I have donated a lot of my starting size clothes - to other surgery patients at another support group. And to goodwill. But honestly - I need the money to buy new clothes for myself. As a student and mother - I am broke and spend money mostly on making sure my kids have clothes. lol. So while I would like to donate - I need the cash :P hehe

You could donate them to places that take business type clothing for people trying to re-enter the job market and use the donation as a tax deduction. Or donate to Goodwill and use that for a tax write-off.

Thanks for the reply. Ebay and the shipping costs are not seller-friendly. I am in size 8s now - and down to one pair of jeans. lol. Still wearing some of my 11/12s just so I have something to wear. But have a ton of business clothes in 12s that I got a steal on. lol. My WLS support group doesn't swap - and I am the smallest one that seems to attend :(
I am thinking selling them on craigslist - but I don't like strangers coming to my house. lol.
